HM Land Registry data errors

If your enquiry is about correcting historic sale data - you can correct this by contacting HM Land Registry.

The information that HM Land Registry will amend includes the following:

  • Incorrect sale price.
  • Incorrect sale date.
  • Property is described as the wrong type - i.e. a detached house is showing as a semi-detached house.
  • Property is described as sold with the wrong tenure - i.e. a freehold house is showing as a leasehold house.

Once you have informed HM Land Registry of the issue, they will investigate it and amend it where necessary.

After HM Land Registry have corrected the issue, they send us an update (along with lots of other property websites), so the information will be corrected everywhere.
